“He hit my wife?!”
Throughout his glittering career, Tom Hanks has earned a reputation for being one of the The most beautiful guys in HollywoodNo one seems to have a bad word against it.
Known for his calm and friendly personality, he is usually able to keep his calm even in stressful situations.
The couple first met on the set of the sitcom تصوير bosom buddies In 1981 and we’ve been loving it ever since.
In contrast, actress and singer Rita is undoubtedly used to the uproar that comes with her husband in public.
But things were more tumultuous than usual when she and Tom went out to New York City on Wednesday.
The couple had dinner at a nearby restaurant after attending a screening of his new movie, Elvisearlier in the evening.
However, a crowd of fans and photographers crowded outside the restaurant, immediately surrounding them as they made their way.
In a video circulating online, Tom and Rita were characteristically calm at first as they walked through the crowd desperately trying to get selfies and videos with Tom.
While Tom was walking behind his wife a few steps away, the night changed when some fans seemed so engrossed in the actor that they didn’t see where they were going and bumped into each other – causing Rita to falter.
Rita could be heard screaming as she lost her feet and turned to face the crowd, telling them, “Stop!”
Tom’s protective side came into play as well, as the star was quick to check that Rita was okay before reprimanding fans for their behaviour.
Addressing the entire squadron, Tom shouted, “My wife?! Back to the curse! Hitting my wife?!”
He and Rita then made their way to a waiting car, where the group muttered their apologies while addressing what had just happened.
Needless to say, the clip went viral on the internet, sparking an important conversation about the way celebrities are treated when they are in public.
The vast majority endorsed Tom’s response as she criticized the group for not treating the couple like humans.
“Watching these guys exacerbate @tomhanks and his wife in this video really annoys me. Remember they are not celebrities but human beings…respect them. Be kind,” one tweeted.
“I would probably cry if Tom Hanks yelled at me. I repeat this clip to see who was at fault. You shouldn’t bother celebrities or be close to them for a non-sensual selfie,” another wrote. Another agreed: “If Tom Hanks makes you resent you. Well, you must be a real douche. Excited to see celebrities is one thing, but invading their space and bringing their loved ones closer is another level of crazy!”
“Tom Hanks was just right there. Whether you’re famous or not, everyone has a right to a personal space, and when you step over that space and cause Tom Hanks’ wife to trip, you deserve to be put in your shoes and feel ashamed.”
Others were left shaken by the upheaval in Tom’s character, with many admitting that they would be “in disgrace” if they were the ones who angered the well-known star friend.
One person wrote, “If Tom Hanks yelled and looked at me like that, I think I’d be ashamed forever.” Another echoed: “Imagine you are the one who makes Tom Hanks rise to this level of anger. I will never go out in public again.”
“Imagine Tom Hanks yelling at you. He’s the cutest guy ever. I’d probably cry,” another tweeted. Another said: “Tom Hanks, according to the accounts of the whole world, is one of the kindest people on the entire planet. How dare anyone make his beloved wife feel insecure and then try to shame him to protect her. Stan is such an amazing human being.”
This social media user summed it up best when he tweeted: “Just a public service announcement on behalf of anyone who has met a celebrity in person. Don’t be overly stupid or aggressive. Be respectful and treat them the way you want to treat them. Talk to them as If you were talking to your parents. Tomhanks deserves the same inscription.”
Advice everyone should probably take.
