Michigan bearing backfield set for ‘plug and play’ attack

Ann Arbor -While Haskins Haskins and Blake Corum took over the bulk of the responsibilities for last season’s comeback for Michigan, along with freshman Donovan Edwards who has become a deeper schedule worker, Tavier Dunlap and Leon Franklin have always been among their happiest hits.

Dunlap and Franklin are backup riders who work hard in the off-season and practice. They both had a solid spring camp, but are more than aware that Corum and Edwards are Michigan’s top players. They are fine with that.

“Everyone knows their part on the team,” Dunlap said recently. “If you don’t start, you’ll know why. (They run backwards) Coach (Mike) Hart told us, that’s why you didn’t start, so you’ll know why you don’t play. You’ll know what the person in front of you is doing better than you.”

With everything out in the open in the jogging room, there is no chance of miscommunication.
