Jordan Grace is a phenomenon. The 26-year-old from Austin, Texas (real name: Patricia Parker) became a double sports star, holding titles in both professional wrestling and weightlifting. As one of the hottest stars pulling the ropes right now Effect! wrestling Broadcast on AXS TV, “Thick Mama Pump” sat down with Muscle & Fitness to talk about her wrestling origins, her love of lifting and her historic championship challenge featured at the 20th annual Slammiversary Gala.
“When I was growing up, I was really drawn to strong wrestlers, so Beth Phoenix was my first,” says Grace, who was a huge fan of WWE and grew up watching wrestling on TV. Powerful wrestlers like Chyna and Beth Phoenix helped break the mold and provide a much-needed breath of fresh air from the cover girl look that prevailed during WWE’s Attitude Era in the late ’90s and early 2000s.

“I think (I liked stronger girls better) because they were so different than what WWE was back then. They had Diva Search, which was people who were models who were basically at a modeling party, and [had] You didn’t wrestle at all. This was what I grew up seeing. It’s so cool to see Those kinds of women (Like Phoenix and Chyna). We should appreciate diversity in terms of race, height, and nationality. I think it’s important for kids to see that because they can relate to it.”
Grace started lifting weights at just 12 years old, realizing muscle would be essential if she was to follow her dreams of becoming a professional wrestler. “That was my mentality,” she recalls. “The first step in wrestling, for me, was lifting weights and getting stronger.” By the time Grace was 14 years old, she was already enrolled in both amateur and professional wrestling training sessions. “I was going to use what I learned in amateur wrestling to make myself better [pro] A wrestler,” she says. The multi-time champion now remembers that the first time she got into the ring, she felt right. “I watched so much wrestling for a kid that when I finally got in there, it felt like second nature.” Her debut will come in a year 2011.
Professional wrestling has evolved since the WWE Attitude Era And unlike in the old days of Diva Search, where women were often taught a less aggressive style in order to present a more attractive image to the audience, girls are now learning the ropes along with boys. “Where I come from, there was no difference in training,” Grace says. In fact, as a professional wrestler, “Thick Mama Pump” earned a reputation for being as tough as everyone else in the locker room, even taking on the boys in countless gender matches across the United States. This 5’3 dynamo has become a social media sensation and one of the most famous Wrestlers in the ring who haven’t signed a WWE contract. Jordynne Grace doesn’t fit in with sexual ideas of what wrestling should look like, and her fans love her passionately for that. With her broad body and popped quads, this warrior can outsmart and outsmart most men.
A lot already accomplished, Grace was the first woman to enter AEW’s “Over Budget Battle Royale” and almost won, getting rid of Brian Cage in processing. “It was really a big moment for me,” she recalls. And the. Soon after capturing everyone’s attention that night, IMPACT! Wrestling has announced that it has signed Grace to a two-year contract. Effect! It is the former stomping ground for many of today’s WWE Superstars, including Drew McIntyre, AJ Styles, Bobby Roode and Xavier Woods. Many critics feel that the success of IMPACT! It is a great indicator of your ability to get anywhere. In 2018, Grace lifted her first knockout tournament. Since then, it has become one of the most star-starred companies. She says there’s nothing she wants more than to get that title back, and she’ll have a chance at Slammiversary.
Jordin Grace knows that success takes hard work
“I usually try to get into the gym every day,” she says. “If it wasn’t an intense day I would try to do some sort of mobility training but I try to go at least once a day. I’ve been doing it twice a day recently because I really hate doing cardio. I’m sure a lot of people can relate to that So I try to split that up into a different time of the day.”
To maintain its flexibility in the ring, the Recovery after hard lifting setsGrace took up yoga, too. “It is very difficult to lift weights along with professional wrestling, so I started doing yoga just because in the past year or so, doing weightlifting competitions with wrestling has been crazy. With yoga, I’ve been trying to get my body back to feeling better.” And it’s not just physical strength that makes lifting and wrestling difficult to juggle. Our girl is known to have left the ring after a live event and headed straight for a four hour flight to do a 6am powerlifting competition.
So, would grace prefer wrestling or weightlifting? “It’s hard to say, because they both mean completely different things to me. Professional wrestling pays the bills and I’ve been doing it forever and love it, but weightlifting is a different thing. There’s no ‘if’, ‘but’ or ‘but’ about this.” The topic is, you can either lift weight or you can’t, so I feel a different kind of accomplishment when I’m able to do something in competition.” Speaking of doing “something” in a competition, Grace broke 3 Georgia state and national records at last year’s World Natural Weightlifting Federation (WNPF) competition, in the 165-pound weight class. Incredibly, I squatted 320 lb (150 kg), bench press 210 lb (95 kg) and lifted 355 lb (161 kg). Then, in February at an unauthorized weightlifting meet, Grace showed further progress by breaking all those records to a total of 1,065 pounds (483 kilograms).
The balance between wrestling and lifting continues to bring challenges, but Graces takes it all in with good…well…blessing! Recently, the wrestler had to lighten heavy weights for a short period after his bad landing in a match caused her to suffer from back pain. So, instead, she turned to Powerbuilding training while she was recovering. “It’s like a program that falls a bit between weightlifting and bodybuilding,” Grace says. “It’s not full-blown weightlifting, 100 percent, basically.” Building strength is a Great way to work on building muscle and strength gains at the same time.

Although Grace has already achieved a lot, there are still many dream matches to look forward to, so who are you keeping an eye on? “It would be great to wrestle Dakota Kay,” Grace says. “And I think Rhea Ripley. This is a dream match that a lot of people have chosen, and it’s one for me too.” The Force is also excited about the possibility of wrestling again with Athena after he last wrestled her about 10 years ago. But for now, there is nothing more important than earning the illustrious Knockouts title. “Anniversary is going to be awesome,” Grace said, excited about the prospect of winning the historic show.
Not only is Jordynne Grace an inspiration in terms of her athletic performance, but she’s also a shining light for other people who might not feel like they fit into a certain mold. With a large following on social media, Grace has to deal with negative comments like many of us do, but the star says she’s learning that caring about trolls is giving them exactly what they’re looking for. “One of the most important things to understand is that loving your body is really a process, it’s an everyday thing,” Grace says. “Look at your body as a whole, as opposed to ‘I hate how fat my thighs are’ or ‘I hate my stomach’ and things like that. Be aware of all the things your body does for you on a daily basis and once you realize it becomes ten times easier to love yourself.”
